Cap Handling System
In the metalising process plastic caps are first sprayed with a base coat to give good adhesion, then a thin layer of aluminium is deposited over the cap in a vacuum chamber. Once coated the layer of aluminium is protected by a further coat of lacquer. For coloured caps the final coat is a coloured varnish. For Port Finishers Ltd in Rye the move to UV coating and greater automation will increase quality and throughput.
Our design uses a series of steel transport bars, each holding 22 polypropylene moulded pins. The pins are fitted with rubber washers to hold the caps. The bars circulate around two parallel conveyors, in one direction the primary operations are completed in a continuous process and the return side completes the secondary processes.
ASC are happy to consider your automation projects. We will discuss your project with you and make a proposal. Your ideas are key to the development.
